2024 Total Solar Eclipse near Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 040824, and time in Springfield with family jasonsargo, 04/08/202408/04/2024 The Diamond Ring! And I got to watch this once-in-a-lifetime moment with my wife! The solar prominences were bright and just electric pink to the naked eye, but hard to capture in the lens! We drove with our dogs and stayed in Springfield to see my family, whom I hadn’t seen in years. We took plenty of time to drive around so my aunt and uncles could show us the family’s homes and my dad’s schools. Plenty of reminiscing about him, and my Grandma and Grandpa. Scroll all the way down for those pics. On Monday, 040824, we drove east to a tiny spot on the side of the road called Epps Township, which is a couple miles west of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and just about dead center in the path of totality. It was just amazing, and literally a once in a lifetime experience. 36.840981,-90.527345 — And, some of the family pics! My Uncle Steve’s beautiful wedding and event center and pavillion on his property, The Rock And Pillar Billy Gail’s restaurant in Ozark, home of the 14″ pancake! And the insanely windy drive to Springfield just destroyed our mileage for this trip! We should have topped 53mpg!
